Using Broken DVD-RW Drive's SATA II (3Gbps) Cable With An SSD

Hey guys,

As the title suggests, I'm wanting to know if it's possible to use my broken or ceased-to-work DVD-RW drive's SATA II cable with an SSD that I plan on buying for Christmas or would I have to purchase a new SATA cable?

Yes, but that means the drive will be limited to SATA2 speeds.

I'm well aware of that but it'll at least have over 200+MBps vs my current 7200rpm HDD speeds with a max speed of 70MBps. So I'm quite fine with that. I actually plan on using the SSD in my new PC when I buy it next year (specs in hidden sig).
