RYZEN Build - Used to power up now it doesn't

PC Part Picker list for reference.

 

So I just finished building my new PC, pressed the power button and everything lit up which has to be a good sign. I then turned it off, plugged the GPU into the monitor and turned it on again, everything lit up again but no display output. I read somewhere to try using only 1 stick of RAM instead of two to see if that helps, to no help, same story with no display.

 

So a little confused after that, I put back the second DIMM and try to turn it on again. This time absolutely nothing happens. Nada. It's as if the power supply is dead, but I haven't touched it at all since the other times in which it started up.

 

Any ideas as to what the issue is? I've double checked the cables everything is in, and the PSU switch is on as well... Why would it work then all of a sudden not even light up at all?

Have you tried resetting the CMOS?

Took the battery out for 30s or so, didn't help at all.

 

It appears to have no power at all as before, with the 1080ti when the PC was off there was still a power status LED that showed it was receiving power. This doesn't even turn on anymore.

Probably a good idea. Anyway, aren't ASRock more of a budget board manufacturer? I'd consider a board from another manufacturer, maybe Asus or Gigabyte.

Not long after buying the board I started hearing how many people were having issues with the MSI Gaming Carbon Pro... Was worried this was going to happen.

 

I think I'll go asrock now...

Wait... your pcpartpicker list shows an ASRock board. If you're with MSI now, I'd suggest not going ASRock as they're more of a budget manufacturer. Asus or Gigabyte are your best bet.

Yep, well MSI and Asus have piss-poor support. If you're lucky and you're able to RMA it, go for a Gigabyte board. For your specs this is a great board:

There's also a few more in it's product lineup that are cheaper if it's above your budget.

I bought the board through CCL in the uk, so i'll just try and return it there if i can.

 

As for the other motherboard, I honestly don't have a budget really, but a very very strict Black/White/Purple colour theme.... I'm thinking of honestly getting a Crosshair VI Hero at this point.

The gigabyte board i mentioned has RGB lighting and a neutral black colour scheme. I believe that fits your theme.

Additionally, the GA-AX370-Gaming 5 has white on it.

So it does! At first glance I thought it had some orange in it, didn't realise that was all lighting. Thank you for all the help, needless to say I've been pretty stressed out about this board.

Remove everything non-essential then double-check connections.  Unplug PSU then press power button on case.  Locate and use the 'Reset CMOS' jumper on your board (in the manual).  Plug PSU back up and power the system up.  If it powers on but no video, give it a few minutes (up to 10).  Update BIOS asap.. assuming you can get into the bios.

 

Make sure you're inserting ram into slots A2 and B2.
