I am looking to buy a new graphics card. I was leaning towards an AMD 270x and was looking through the cards online when a Geforce Experience notification popped up telling me my driver was now out of date. That got me thinking, the 270x has the GTX 760 are close on price to performance, when the 760 wins it seems to win by a lot but the 270x seems to win more often, but what about the extras that are not directly about raw horsepower and graphics?

For Nvidia the big ones they seem to push the most are the Geforce Experience and G-sync. The Geforce experience is cool, but does not have a lot of features I use. The only thing is the driver update notifications, but those are always on the front page of every tech site anyway. The auto optimizations are a nice try, but the games offered are quite limited, and seem to always shoot for rock solid 55 fps+ while I prefer to have better graphics and stay above 45(and trust me on a GTX 550 ti that 10-15 fps makes a HUGE difference). AMD's answer to the Geforce Experience was reviewed by Anandtech and they say it has all the same features, but is just worse and more limited in every way. G-Sync is a much bigger deal, but I will wait a few years and buy that in a 4K monitor with a fresh build.

Mantle from AMD looks like it could be great, but not many developers have vocalized support so I don't know how much of an effect that will have on my choice. I don't care about True Audio because the same can be accomplished with a free program called Razer Surround. I highly recommend trying that if you haven't.

Are there any other value adds I should consider?

There are a lot of developers jumping on board actually, just depends where you get your news.

GeForce experience just helps you optimize the game settings for your setup AFAIK, which you can do manually - although whether you can be bothered is the real question here.

Also, how much are you looking to spend?! Because the 760 costs around $50 more as far as I'm aware. I'd also look out for second hand deals.

Current rig: i5 4670K | GTX 670 | Asus Z87I-Pro | Silverstone Strider Plus 600W | Custom mITX case | Seagate Barracuda 3TB | Samsung 840 120GB | G430 | CM Storm Quickfire Pro - MX Red | LG 21.5"

No contest. the 760 is better. Should you get it? Look at a cheaper and better 7950 instead.

True Audio and Razer Surround are hardly the same thing.
