Quick question: Is that only difference between X370 and B350 the SLI support? I've been thinking of getting a Mini-ITX Ryzen motherboard and I can't seem to understand what justifies the higher price on the X370 motherboards. Are there more extensive overclocking controls on there too? Does it hve anything to do with PCI-e lanes?

Why X370 is more expensive:

  • Better VRMs (higher OCs, less heat)
  • SLI support
  • More SATA / USB ports
  • Generally slightly better audio / memory support

Some high very high end motherboards take the above to the extreme, plus add a lot more in terms of features that just aren't available on lower end X370 or B350 boards.

EDIT

  • More VRMs in most cases.
  • Optional aesthetics (rear IO cover)
  • Optional better component cooling (VRMs, M.2, etc...)

Better VRMs, across the board? The ASRock Fatal1ty Mini-ITX boards are said to be identical, but does it differ in that regard, in this case, do you think? And how does the memory support differ?

Usually depends on the manufacturer and on a case by case basis. Asrock have been very solid with AM4 mobos this year so the mini ITX board is probably good to go.

In every case, no probably not. I doubt that every X370 boards has better VRMs and chokes than every B350, but in a general sense this is true.
