On a 1500X? You've lost it, man. There's absolutely no reason to put a custom loop on a 1500X. Hell, my 1700 reaches unsafe voltages before coming anywhere near thermal throttling, and I'm only running an H5 Ultimate.

 

@omeir20003, the Cryorig H7 is a solid stock replacement that will let you get a very nice overclock, and there's an AM4 kit that they'll ship you if you need it. The M9a is a smaller, cheaper Cryorig cooler that will cool on par with a Hyper 212 EVO.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

Yes, the NH-U12S is very hard to go wrong with in most situations.
