hey everyone,

so i just got my steelseries arctis 5 and i have the usb plugged into my pc, but i also got speaker in the pc with the audio jack on the mobo.

the headset has gotten a usb "extension" kind of thing, which is plugged in and also registered as the headset itself, preventing audio from my normal speakers.

in order for the speakers to work, i need to unplug the usb cable.

now i would like to have the audio to play on both sound channels the same time, so when i turn on my speakers they also make sound.

is that possible in windows itself, or is there a program for?

Inside of your motherboard's audio settings (if you're using Realtek drivers as most motherboards do) you should see a setting for separating the front and rear channels. This will separate the front audio jacks from the rear. This should in theory also make your USB audio a separate entity inside of Windows. However, only one device can be the default sound source at any given time, unless specific programs (like Discord, Skype, etc) take control over an audio device.

unfortunately, the usb is in the back plugged in. it has a small knob on the end for volume control, so that's why i got it in the back

if the headset shows up as a separate device in the windows audio menu then no.

i think windows is too stupid to play the same audio on two individual devices

One somewhat crappy solution but that won't require you to keep unplugging your headphones is to use a program called AudioRouter and use the duplicate function on it.
