HDD Migration to SSD

I am looking for a suggestion on moving my Data from a HDD to an SSD without needing to format and reinstall, is there is good free software for doing it? I did this for my laptop years ago and I think i just used Samsungs software which only works for Samsung drives.

 

In short I need to move from HDD to SSD and am looking for easy and free software to do so, any suggestions are appreciated, thanks.

Which SSD do you have? Btw, although you said you don't want to reinstall. It's the best option. You could get into serious issues from copying files.

what are you moving? If it's just files then just copy and paste will do. If they are apps then copy and paste might cause issue with Windows registry, shortcuts and sometimes install path, that kind of annoying stuff. Reinstalling is the safest way to do so.

Well the best option is to use some form of Data migration/cloneing software like you said Samsung have one I don't know if it only works for there drives or not.

I just went through all of my programs on my computer to find out what I used and it was the Samsung one but I was using it to transfer to a Samsung drive, but I am sure there is other free ones out there you could use.
