My computer will no longer start and won't recognize one of my hdd's

Go to solution Solved by Nexunus,

So my d drive is dead. I took it out and my comp started like normal.

It was working fine last night, I shut it down and when I turned it back on in the morning it started up like normal, but my d drive wasn't showing up. So I shut it down and now it just gets stuck on some repair screen when I try to turn it on. I've tried replacing the sata cables and moving them to different places, but nothing has changed

go into the bios and see if your os drive is showing up , if it is then tap f11 when the machine is booting and seeking for a drive to boot from , then select your windows installation rather than the repair partition

My os drive is showing up. The repair thing I was talking about is the windows automatic repair; I don't know if I can avoid it or not.

Are you booting from the installation partition or the repair partition?

I did it like you said, the repair thing is just automatic.

I've been talking with a friend of mine; he had a similar thing happen a while ago where his d drive failed and he had to reinstall Windows.
