GTX 1070 or GTX 1080

NickB
Go to solution Solved by sun2,

A 1070, a 1080 would be overkill for a 1080p@60hz.

I want to play every game at ultra settings 60fps on my 1920x1080 60Hz monitor.

1070 or 1080?

1070, 1080 if you are upgrading to 1440p before you upgrade your GPU

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

Those are overkill for 1080p60 they are more suited for 1080p240 or 1440p60

If you get an 1080 consider getting a better monitor somewhere in the future to get the most of out it.

1060 or 1070 should be fine... would go for the former if i were you... 1070 was more designed for 1440p60 gaming in mind if not nearly.

if u can find a good deal on the 1070 over 1060 then do spring for it... if not then i'd most likely say the 1060 should suffice
