The power supply he has has an amp rating of 46 amps on two 12V rails. Where are you getting this 25 from? This is my source

You are right, but that's combined amps of both rails. Each rail can only handle 25A. It's only rated for about 550W on the 12V rails and that's too close for comfort for SLI as well.

 

1 rail supplies the 24pin and 8pin CPU, the other rail supplies everything else.

You are right, but that's combined amps. Each rail can only handle 25A. 1 rail supplies the 24pin and 8pin CPU, the other rail supplies everything else.

And unfortunately, the power supply fails the 700 watt test.

That´s why I usually recommend Seasonic or Corsair, because you buy what you see :) .

The only reason I got the PSU is because my Ultra peaice of shit died and I need something quick at the time to get my PC up and running and I was at tigerdirect and found the only only modular one which was this one lol
