So one of my USB 3 ports on my s340 isn't working. I bought it used and the previous owner had zip ties pretty dang tight. So I took them off and after buying and everything only one works. One is really indented from the tie. Could that be it? Is there a fix if so?

Shut lol. It was 20 bucks. But what do you think? Could it be cause of that or cause it's being choked by another zip tie?

Let the cable breathe and see if you solve the problem. It might have been pinched a little too much and it might work if twisted some special way.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Its more likely that when you undid the cable tie you caught the cabe on the implement to remove it. You might be able to replace the cable or the ports. I have never seen a cable break because of a cable tie, its normally the remove that finishes it off.

It might be that the cable was weakened by the cabe tie and then damaged by the cable tie being removed.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Yes I was thinking the twisting thing.  I'll try letting it breathe as well

So do you think it's broken? Or would squeezing/twisting it possible help?

Oh sorry, it's 8:17AM here! Go to bed! ;)

Usually squeezing/twisting is a temporary solution so you may want to look into replacing the cable. (Although I guess it would require you to strip the 8(?) internal cables which is a bit of a pain)

I edit my posts a lot.

Hmm ok if I can't fix it I might just leave it as it is and deal with 1 usb. I normally only use one anyways, just an inconvenience. And it was only 20 so... (And if I told him about this he'd probably refund me some) Although I was thinking I might have to reinstall drivers? Cause my old case had 1 usb 3... So idk if the old drivers would have been configured in a certain way.

It might be worth reinstalling drivers on Windows 7 but Windows 10 shouldn't have any issues with that.

Eh I'll try it. It couldn't hurt. It may not be the wire the since I saw a few people with only 1 usb working online... Not really solutions tho
