So my friend is offering to sell me a 16gb kit of corsair vengeance rgb memory running at 3000mhz.  Now granted my pc dosent support ddr4 but some time soon I do plan on building a new one so I can use it there or I could just flip it. Also he is selling it to me for $50 brand new just no box. Should I do it?

If it works, that would be a pretty good deal. 

Please quote our replys so we get a notification and can reply easily. Never cheap out on a PSU, or I will come to watch the fireworks.

Thats an amazing deal you save 70 dollars. Id reccomend getting memtest86 on a flash drive and checking it has no errors. But its your friend so if something happens you can return it.

Yea he said he just got it today from a garage sale he paid $25 for them. Was in the box and everything

If you are going to upgrade your system soon and you know there's nothing wrong with the kit then go for it but if you can't use it and you don't know when you'll be able to upgrade then I'd just say no. Sure it might save you a few $ down the road but if your next upgrade cycle is a few years away it's really not doing you any good.
