Home WIFI problems

Go to solution Solved by Droidbot,

Definitely try powerline. I can only get 2.4 with my desktop, whereas my laptop can get both and my phone can get both, and powerline is much better, especially for pings.

Hi,

I'm having some home wifi problems, mainly with my PC. The current PCI card that I have is not powerful enough to reach my router and obtain it's 5 GHz speed. I cannot move my computer to another room as it is either impractical, or inhabited by another family member.

I've looked at powerline adapters so I can plug in with ethernet, but are there any other solutions that you would recommend?

Note: The problem is NOT my router, it is my PC, I can get fine connectivity where I am with my laptop, and phone.

Thanks in advance.

Are there any particular powerline adapters that you would recommend?

If you have Coax in both locations I suggest looking in to MOCA. It uses the coax in the walls to carry data. Works better than Powerline in most cases, and can provide faster speeds. Though the adapters can be expensive.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
