I need one that doesn't look like a bunch of different lights on one strip, but one whole strip of light, if you get what I mean?

No I mean, most of them look like individual lights shining, I don't want that.

If you don't need flexibility, get a CCFL or an LED tube with a diffuser like https://www.amazon.com/Qooltek-Portable-Reading-Strips-Eye-care/dp/B00T4GPPD8/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1502840732&sr=8-9&keywords=light+strip

Otherwise look for an electroluminescent wire. However, the one I tried wasn't very bright at all and I think the pictures on Amazon were exaggerating how bright it is.

Alright, thanks, the flexibility isn't needed for the LED's behind the desk, will be looking into it!
