I did a bad

I need a little advice here on what to do. Nicked three of the pins with my fingernail while removing CPU. The aforementioned fingernail has since been cut.

but yeah you should be able to carefully bend them back with something narrow but soft like a pencil eraser cut into a point

It probably would, however the pins do stick out from the others, so I'm worried they'd be compressed and snapped if I put the CPU in and closed the socket cover.

Eye eyeballed it when I did it with my blunt knife (not the pointiest thing ever, but it worked).

I don't think I'd be that risky, but I'll give it a go with a little pin.

Just as an update for anyone still reading this thread, I found a PDF with the pin layout of LGA 1156 sockets, and discovered that of the three bent pins (G33, G34, G35), two are for power, and one is ground. So they aren't the rare few that are unused on i5-700s and i7-800s. No easy way out.

Yep its a good thing its not too common
