Nvidia workstation vs Consumer GPU

So . . . does anyone work with Autodesk software at work?

Everywhere I go the PC is packed with a Consumer GPU when Autodesk only supports Workstation GPU's . . . Does it really make a difference?

Id like to see Linus do a video on the performance inside of autodesk software . . . load it up

Consumer GPUs are fine and it can detect mine fine

I have 2 1070 workstations and a gtx 570

It makes a difference but its not worth the price as you can use the money to get more or better consumer cards

 

Its mostly for the drivers that you pay.

It use to make a larger difference, but these days a 1080 ti isn't a lot different from the highest end Quadro architecturally.

Maya worked fine with amd R9 390, gtx 980, gtx 750 ti, laptop dedicated and integrated GPU. Who said you NEED a workstation gpu? As far as I'm concerned a gpu is a gpu.
