Upgrades again

I have decided to upgrade my gpu from a GTX 960 but i am not sure whether to get the 1060 6 gb edition or a 1070.

i also have an i5 7600k @ 4.8Ghz, will anything be throttled?

not sure how viable itll be for you but keep that gpu for a little while and buy into ryzen with the 1600, the 7600k bottlenecks 1070s whereas the 1600 does not

I have been told on previous discussions that the 7600k wont bottleneck either of those gpus. plus i'm not looking to upgrade my cpu anytime soon its strong and outperforms ryzen in gaming. as stated i want to know which would be better the 1060 6gb or 1070 as a long term investment based upon gaming and what i need.

Will bottleneck a 1070 a little at 1080p, but should still mostly be fine (Still much better performance over 1060), not really necessary if just 60hz though (Vega 56 could also be a good option if you can wait).

Dat moment when forum is so pro Ryzen that even when someone asks for GPU advice, the first answer is "get Ryzen".

Don't read much into this comment, I am neither pro or against AMD and I acknowledge the worth of those chips. Still fun to read though ;-)

With Volta still a way away I would go for a 1070. A 1060 is a great card (I have one) but I'm not sure if it's worth it for the size of the upgrade

That's an F in the profile pic

the 7600k will bottleneck the 1070 plus 4c4t is not enough anymore so it was a valid suggestion :P

Then get a 1070 or 980 Ti. Don't worry about the bottleneck, I run my 980 Ti with an i5 2400 :D

I'm eventually gonna get a Ryzen 5 1600... but I need a Nintendo Switch... but I need a new CPU to play EA's Battlefront 2.... But I need Zelda Breath of The Wild.... ugh. Yeah, I'll eventually upgrade the CPU. And PSU, I run my rig off a CX450M.
