i believe all of the 4k 144hz panels are from AUO, so it might be issues related to them

most monitor manufacturers tend to announce quite early in tech shows... but always tend to have 3 quarters of working time... as far as what i've seen so far.

 

according to one guy interview a ROG representative, they did sorta omit that the monitor would be estimated to cost around 2000usd according to what the representative spoke on stage.
