Hey,

So I just set up a new rig, and all of a sudden now. out of the blue. The whole thing crashes, there is no response to the monitor yet the system is still running. I'm guessing that it's my card crashing because the vrm/vram isn't being cooled properly with that little fan. I'm not entirely sure, I came here to find out if other people have been getting the same issue?

I'm not sure what size heat sinks to buy for the GPU ( Asus 1080 turbo)?  I look around and there is just so many sizes.

If anyone can help out that out be much appreciated.

edit:

The temps I'm seeming to crash at are 87 F

You sure that's not Celsius?  My system IDLES hotter than 87F.

Try cranking up the power (adjust the fan curve) to the header where the Kraken pump is plugged in.

When is it crashing? Look at the vrm, then measure them. Then you will know what size to get. Vram uses 10x10mm, so use that as a reference.

When it goes over 87F. And will try to

Well like stated, you prolly mean 87c. Also there's no way the card Ian hitting 80's with an aio on the gpu. I assume it isn't making contact.

No, it's Fahrenheit, I checked it, I find that very odd. I'm thinking that too, right now it's using a Corsair H75. Just going to remount the whole thing I guess

Well if it is, then it isn't an issue with the mount of temp. As that's idling temp. Could be something else. Driver, or the mount is too tight. Card could be bending or sagging too much.

If it wasn't doing it before the cooler then it's the issue. Or the install.

I run the x42 and g12 on fe 1080ti.

same as the 1080, will throttle, not crash. If it's crashing it will be the overclock, not the temps. Or it's not the GPU causing the crash.

im not overclocked, and this rabbit hole of mine gets deeper and deeper as this computer now crashes when attempting to update windows

Do you have onboard graphics?

Or just list the system full specs

And psu
So you aren't getting any blue screens. Just shuts down, any attempts to restart buy itself. Or is it just freezing and the screen goes blank?
