Hey guys some time I want to build an htpc for my home for watching movies netflix and stuff and I wanted to know what you guys thought.

Case: I already decided I wanted something w/a 5.25 inch bay for a dvd drive or a 5.25 inch fan controller so i chose the core 500

Motherboard and onboard parts: Motherboard I wanted a cheap wifi board so im thinking of the Asrock h110m ac so i can get wifi on a non overclockable set, for cpu i went with a g4500 because of price and i can sacrifice 1 8gb stick of memory from my current pc and i already have an extra psu.

Storage, i would wipe my current 3.5 1tb hard drive and switch it into that pc and buy myself a 480 gb ssd and stick with that what do you guys think?

Looks good to me. I would add a PCIe based WiFi AIC with a movable antenna for clearer signal.

yea but i figure some simple onboard wifi would be cheaper plus its gonna be right next to my modem but i would like it for easy internet anywhere

You're good, then. I would stick only to the SSD unless you're going to place all of the movies and files on the system itself.

Yea no nas here tryna keep it cheap and i figure cannibalising unneeded parts from my current pc could save me a buck

It has a SanDisk? Some mushkins are good but only certain models

I have a 300$ budget from my family for christmas and +~50 to 80$ from grandparents so this is the revised build:

i figure i can route a sata and data cable out from the case and burn off all dvds onto this pc externally to save space and make it look noice

yes thats what i currently had up but I'm wondering should i go for the cm 110 or 130 for a 5.25 inch bay for dvd

I wouldn't build an HTPC without an ODD for those DVD/BD rentals.
