New Gaming PC First Time Builder From Console To PC BUDGET BUILD

I am going to get a new pc and I had help from a few friends about parts and I already have an EVGA nvidia GTX 980 and I just need some basic help. Both of my friends have built their own PC but I need some reassurance about if this is a good budget build ( Here's the link https://pcpartpicker.com/list/) Any help would be good

Get a ryzen 1600x, and more ram, you will bottleneck your 980 and not get the full potential out of it.

A G4560 will NOT be able to run a 980 without bottlenecks

What should I do instead

i5s are not worth it anymore

i5 are good or budget builds as long as you are not going to be doing video editing or VR.

Way more CPU horsepower with the Ryzen 1600, especially if you overclock. Better platform too, as Coffee Lake won't be supported on 100/200 series boards. 2400 MHZ RAM is fine for a 1060, so it'll be fine for a 980. $25 more expensive

I'm fully aware of that. For gaming, the difference only shows with higher end cards, like the 1070. Just used whatever RAM OP had already chosen

We have Pentuim laptops at school, they login via Active Directory very quickly, they run MC and other games at a capped 60FPS, as long as it is a good processor it is fine.

He is wrong. Ryzens are better in almost everything when it comes to price to performance. In a few years, a Ryzen 1600 will do better with higher end than an i5. An overclocked Ryzen 1600 is barely slower than an i7.

so? OP is not only playing lowend games? Ryzen 1400 or  1600 is much better than any pentium.

This memory kit is 3000 MHz, and costs the same, so get that one instead. An SSD is something you may want to consider, but that can be added later.
