Building computer for friend

Hello everyone !
 

I'm planning on building a rig for a friend of mine. 

He plays WoW, maybe want to record our kills (that means probably OBS running along side with WoW). He has a "default" 24" montior running at 1080p, maybe a second one comming. 

To be honnest, I already built my computer, but I was less stressed because I was able to pay more for my mistakes. But he's quite low on money, so I'm looking to make sure every component is compatible with each other and to make sure the composition is ok for his needs. 

I've already checked 3 times but eh, you never know. 

 

Also, I'm looking for a smoking ass Screwdriver (magnetic, mod, etc) you guys know where I might find one ?

You don't need thermal paste, cooler comes with it.

 

Ryzen 1600 beats 7600K in EVERYTHING.

Change the power supply and I think you should be able to get some 16GB

Ryzen is AMD's new CPUs. Advantage over Intel CPUs is while they have lower IPC (they do less processes per core for each clock) they have far more cores and far more threads. All Ryzen CPUs are overclockable, all Ryzen CPUs run of the same chipset (as will Ryzen 2), and every Ryzen 5 or 7 processor has SMT (Hyperthreading).

For the money you pay for an I5 7600K, you can get the same (maybe better) gaming performance, but 2 more cores and 8 more threads. Also, the motherboards and generally cheaper.

It's agreed upon that the i5 is a worthless buy atm, it's too expensive compared the the Ryzen 1600. Go for a Ryzen 1600 with a B350 motherboard,  it has 6 cores, 12 threads, comes with a CPU cooler, overclockable on that board, great TDP, and better gaming and general performance over the 7600k. And it's cheaper.

That'd be Zen 2, since Zen is the architecture. Ryzen 2 sounds like it'd be a little sibling to Ryzen 3, which wouldn't make sense.

No I thought you were talking about a worse version of this gen Ryzen, worse than Ryzen 3. Maybe even dual core.

I didn't choose to get the Gaming X because its massively overpriced in France for some reason, but the G1 Gaming is a great card, with minor RGB lighting on the side, and an otherwise neutral look so it should look just fine in your system. I also chose a different case merely to present the option, but there is nothing wrong with the 400C if that case is more preferential for you. Its worth noting that the case I chose has tempered glass side panel rather than acrylic, a proper PSU basement, and a black/red colour scheme to match the rest of the build. Speaking of PSU's, the RM550x I chose is an excellent unit and should last your friend through several builds and upgrades over the years. a 650W version of the unit can be had for just a couple more bucks if that is more your thing, but would likely be unecessary unless he intends to SLI/crossfire someday.

Ifixit has some great stuff. not the cheapest stuff out there, but definitely some of the best. other than that you could probably check your local hardware/computer store as they likely would have something like that.
