Help: Multiple Network Streaming/Gaming Setup (Possible Video Idea as well)

GuyGalaxy

I have a networking question to ask, and I think its an issue that a lot of people may run into at some point.

I have DSL Internet (10M Download, 1M Upload. This works fine for online gaming), and just had Cable Internet installed (25M Download, 10M Upload) Along Side the DSL Internet. Obviously, the Cable Internet would have to be the network to stream on. However, there is 2 issues with Gaming and Streaming on the Cable Network. 1. Latency and Lag on both the Stream and the Online game I would be playing could cause issues. 2. There is a data allowance on the Cable internet (500GB). This shouldnt be too much of an issue for the streaming, since it doesnt take up a super large amount of data, however, it is worth noting.

What I was wondering was: Is there a way to Stream AND Game from the same computer, but on 2 separate networks? (Stream going out the Cable side, and playing the actual game on the DSL side). I do have a pretty beefy system, so encoding shouldnt be an issue.

If its not possible to do this, is there a way to send the gaming footage in real time to a separate Streaming PC?

Any help you could lend would be much appreciated. Also, feel free to use this as a video idea as well, as I feel this could be useful to a lot of people.

Thank you so much,

Arty

So you want to Stream on the Cable line and Game on the DSL line?

I don't think that is possible. Unless you connect your gaming PC to dedicated Streaming PC and the Streaming PC is connected to the Cable line and you game on your DSL via your gaming PC.

So to recap.

Between the streaming PC and the gaming PC you'll need a crossover cable.

So I would basically be sending the "Recording" at a super fast bit rate over to the Streaming PC, to then be sent out from there, via the Cable Line?
