Help - Apple Deployment + macOS Server MDM

Hi Team,

 

Deploying Apple devices in a organisation - Apple Deployment + Mobile Device Management (MDM).

 

Apple would have me believe it's as simple as enrolling in Apple Deployment + Apple Configurator + macOS Server for MDM (other than certificate & setup + cache server to reduce external resource usage for updates and backup). Surely it's not that simple & easy with only a one-off $19.99 cost for macOS Server and no on-going costs?

All feedback and experiences would be appreciated!
