is it worth trying to sell my 970 strix to get a 1060 FTW2 6GB?

and would i actually get that much more performance out of it?

both have very close performance but one has more vram and newer, does that answer your question?

that was my original plan, but at the moment im paycheck to paycheck so an extra $100 would put things a little tight.. in my area i think i can sell the 970 for about $300, which is basically the same price as a new 1060, give or take like $10.

That might take a while. Also there is next to no stock of rx4/5 gpus. Soon the market will be flooded with ones that have been trashed by miners.

The 1060 is more equivalent in performance to the 980. If you are able to pick up a 980 used for a low price (No more than 250 dollars), I'd say you got a pretty good deal there.

If you don't want to buy used then I'd go for the 1060 or you can wait for the Polaris cards to drop in price.
