Cpu And Gpu compatibility

Hi there guys just new here. Can you guys help me in answering my question, Ok here it is. If you have a amd cpu and a nvidia gpu does it affect performance? and in vise versa intel cpu and a amd gpu? for example you have a reyzen 7 and an gtx 1080, will it affect performance? note: just putting them in no special tweaks. Many thanks

Hi there and welcome to LTT.

Doesn't matter. The CPU doesn't care what manufacturer built the GPU and vice versa

If you had a thought about it affecting performance you'r not totally out of it.

Go back a couple of years and it would affect performance, but not by todays standards.

You're absolutely fine.

Why not consider a Ryzen 3 CPU? Same price almost, and new technology :)
