Custom cases (duplicate)

Would it at all be possible to duplicate an awesome small form factor case and have it made with cheaper materials, and does a service actually exist?

Sure, but 

A) You'd be stealing the design unless the original creators were on board with it

 

B) Making cases costs a LOT. if you don't have access to the machinery to DIY (cnc usually) it's going to cost way more and the end result will be flimsy and cheap in comparison.

OP would only need permission if he was selling them right? He can make whatever he wants for himself.

Still illegal, copyright is a thing (if something that is generally left alone on small scale)  GL comisioning someone to do it for you.

 

For example, I doubt protocase wants to have a ding on their reputation  (the kind of thing that could happen if the original creators got upset.)
