Will a HDD and GPU trade work

Hello, me and a family memeber are trading PCs and i was wondering if there would be any errors between my c2d lenovo and a i3 inspiron

My goal is to transfer HHDs

Bettween the pcs

And transfer the 730 to the i3

 

Will it work

Windows keys are tied to the motherboard, so you may have to re-activate your Windows keys through Microsoft if you swap the HDDs.

I read something about the driver chipsets and if you swap hdds the pcs wont boot

 

Is this true?

No, but I've cloned drives and done similar things.

Most likely no. It's hit or miss. I've gone from one q6600 machine to another and it didn't work, I've also transfered a OS from a Athlon 64 to a core 2 duo and it worked fine.

 

So don't count on it. There are also ways to "fix" a OS to work on different hardware, but it also has mixed results. Fresh OSes are the way to go.

Ill just buy a usb flash drive and transfer files
