i don't know what the msoob thing is. but maybe there's some driver issue try loading some of the drivers before installation when you choose the drive

it's for window's recognition and the error doesn't say on what device the problem occured so try them one by one i guess. it's your motherboard's drivers on asus website (just in case you weren't sure)

Okay so I just put the motherboard driver disc in first before I install windows 7

well it's a bit harder than that because you have to be able to tell the windows install which one you want and the disk is typically designed to be read as a single executable on top of burned drivers being out of date in 90% of cases. so downloading them yourself from another machine and having them on a flash drive tends to be easier

The problem is I don't have another machine to do this with also I've reinstalled windows like this before and everything's worked fine which is why I'm confused as it hasn't worked this time

well the most likely reason for the problem is with the windows install itself but it's really annoying and hard to find that, so trying out drivers first is much easier.

When you say windows install itself are you talking about the installation disk or something else

yeah a corrupted file somewhere in there or some weird unexplainable bug

I managed to get it up and running but the reason I reinstalled was because it kept getting stuck on "starting windows" and I restarted after installing drivers and it's still happening
