Bottleneck?

So, I have a Msi GTX 650 TI Boost and a Pentium G3258 OC'd to 4.7 ghz. My question is that when i play games like CounterStrike GO my gpu maxes out at 65% load and I get a max of 190 fps. Is there something from these two parts that could be limiting the other performance?

reduce the texture filtering

 

what is your CPU usage?

@themctipers i just when thru a test my cpu usage was pinned at 100% and gpu was at 67% max

its a cpu bottleneck then, because the cpu cant send frames to the gpu fast enough the gpu doesn't go to full load

upgrade your processor to something like an i5 or an i7, it's bottlenecking you here.

you mean ryzen 

unless you do gaming only and can afford a 7700k, there is no reason to get intel. 

 

i really doubt he is hiko and 'needs' 1000+ fps in 640 x 480 stretched.

he has a g3258, meaning he has z series board and ddr3. 

 

why throw that out for Ryzen? that's usable parts and would save him a fuckton of money while upgrading

just totally ignore what i said about recommending ryzen, and then try to search for a used K series haswell chip

Get a 4690K or 4790K. These are the top chips for your platform and still perform admirably in many modern titles.

@ARikozuM From those two cpu's i would most likely get the 4790k, what would be a good gpu with that and would a hyper 212 evo be able to cool that woth an overclock?

4790K is a good choice and the Evo should be good for a nice OC to 4.4-4.5GHz depending on the voltage you use. I'd choose a 1080 as a good GPU for now.

 

Edit: 4790K and 1080 if you're playing titles besides CS:GO.
