To get SNES Classic or maybe a Steam Link?

Okjoek

We actually still have an NES (the original, not the new tiny one) as our home gaming system for the living room television. We used to have a Wii, but it broke one day and we ended up selling all the GC and Wii games that went to it (that's alright I thought it was too gimmicky anyways), but the NES honestly isn't my favorite solution. 8-bit is honestly not my thing and I'm not in the mood to replace the 72 pin connector that's causing frequent in-connection with the cartridges.

I have always loved more colorful pixel games like Pokemon Emerald, Shovel Knight, Stardew Valley, Minecraft, Bit Blaster XL and Super Mario Bros 3. But these are more 16-bit looking games. I've never had an SNES though, we kind of skipped that generation, so I was thinking it might be a good opportunity this September to seek one out. I've always been told Super Mario World was the best Mario game and I've always wanted to try a Street Fighter game too.

_______

The alternative might just be a Steam Link, but IDK what kind of controller to get for it. Steam Controllers? IDK how good those are and for what games they're not good with. I really don't want to use a keyboard+mouse for console gaming either.

You get some really beloved titles in the SNES, I'll definetly get it.

Even if you haven't played them all before it just gives you chance to do so.

Zelda: A Link to the Past is by far my favourite Zelda.

And you get Super Metroid? FUCK YEAH?

Steam link? Pfffth

Yeah, I've never played any Zelda game before either.

Steam Link has been a consideration because of the games like Shovel Knight, Stardew Valley and Bit Blaster XL and other sort of non-competitive games. I mean the value does seem to be there, any Steam Library game at your fingertips.

GET OUT! :D A Link to the Past would be a good start!

Yeah I was semi unserious about steam link. It's up to personal preference tbh!

I like the classic platformers more than the new ones!

I think we had that for game boy..... Also had Legends of the Four Sword, but never had any friends with game boys to play it with. The Zelda series is really well done, even if the older ones are really difficult. And the SNES is great as well. I used to play it when I was younger, but now the display cable has gone misssing. My dad has a Sega Genisis as well.

Ah. Solid game, that one. Another awesome game is Breath of The Wild, and you can run it on PC with a WiiU emulator (I guess the WiiU was good for something...). And you can get Super Mario on the SNES, so ‘nuff said.
