Hello people of the tech tips forum i would all like to welcome you to The Stereo Revolution  this is a thread where we can all discuss high end and vintage stereos (From the stereo wars are preferred 1970's-1980's but all entries welcome) my rig is a Nikko STA-5010 hooked up with Precise Acoustic laboratories monitor 3 speakers. my home is a place for audiophile fanatics we have a stereo for every room in my house (excluding the bathroom  ) i  am looking to upgrade real soon to a pioneer sx-3700. i will post pictures soon of my rig

We've had threads like this in the Audio section, but I'll bite. 

Although, my stereos are usually a mix between old and new stuff. I haven't really had the urge tro build a 100% vintage setup.

 

Livingroom stereo

• ELAC B6 speakers
• Yamaha YST-SW215 subwoofer
• Harmon Kardon Citation V amp
• Schiit Mani phono pre-amp and Schiit Sys volume control. 
• Sansui SR 4050 turntable with a Dynavector 20A cartridge
• Nakamichi Cassette Deck 1 cassette deck
• A Belkin Bluetooth dongle

Home offce stereo

• Wharfedale Diamond 225 speakers
• Dali 3070 subwoofer
• Marantz PM6006 amp and DAC
• Pro-ject 6 turntable (modded) with a Grado Reference Blue cartridge
• Luxman K-111 cassette deck
• Denon DCD-655 CD player

that is NICE very nice indeed. i did not know there where threads like this in the audio section i just want a place where audiophiles and enthusiast to hang out and discuss our rigs (im saying that like a pc lol)

Well, it should probably be said that those threads all came and went, so making another one every won't hurt.

Vinyl - Pro-Ject RPM5.1 with Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge and Pro-Ject SpeedBox II

Phono preamp - Clearaudio Nano

 

I've had this setup for almost seven years now and I'm still very pleased with it.

 

 

Computer:

Speakers - Genelec 8020B

DAC/amp - Marantz HD-DAC1 with Singxer F-1

 

 

Also have a bunch of headphones, Sennheiser HD800, HD650 with Cardas Cable, HD598, IE80, Momentum and Philips Fidelio X2.

How do you like the Ortifon 2M Blue? 

I only have experience with the 2M Bronze and Black, but I was thinking of buying a 2M Blue for my office turntable when the stylus on the Grado is worn down.

Speakers - Wharfedale diamond 9.5

 

  Newer/secondary system:

Amplifier - Cambridge azur 350a

Speakers -  Frugal horn MK3

 

  Computer system:

Amplifier - Onkyo TX-SR309

Speakers - Klipsch R-15M

Headphones - DT990

IEM - DZAT DF-10

I'm very satisfied with the 2M Blue. Compared with the 2M Red that the turntable came with, the 2M Blue has less sibilance and better detail retrieval, especially on the inner tracks of a record.
