So I recently built my first high end PC and I am trying to of my ryzen 1800x but when i oc it when I run cinebench or something it turns off because of overheating but I have a Kraken x62 and 5 fans 4 on the road and 1 in the back.

Atleast I think overheating is the issue because monitoring it it jumps up to 97c when 100% then shuts off

Hm, are you sure the pump is actually working and it isn't DOA?

It's more of a touch and feel (and hear) situation when trying to figure out if the pump works. If you touch it and feel it spinning, it might be spinning. Also, in some AIOs you can kinda "feel" the water flowing through the tubes.

I'm not very familiar with the x62, so I couldn't tell you exactly how to check

Pump is definitely working. Could it be I had too many volts going to the CPU? Because I turned them down just a little bit and I am going near the same temps but no shut off.

What voltage were you running?

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

I still want to know the voltage. You can definitely try removing two RAM sticks, could help but it won't help the temperature

That should be just fine. What overclock were you pushing? At that voltage I wouldn't expect 4GHz to be fine to be honest
