So, I'm looking at upgrading my GPU in the next month or two. Budget is $300-400. I've looked a bit at the 7970, 280x and 290. 290 seems really appealing, but I'm worried about the power consumption, and also worried that the heat would affect my system. Open to Nvidia if I could get a really good deal on a card, but probably going to go with AMD as I play Battlefield 4 a lot, and am looking forward to future Frostbite 3 games, which will have Mantle support. Any suggestions are appreciated. Edit: I should mention that I game at 1080p, and don't plan on going past that anytime soon. I do use 2 monitors, and I've noticed that my performance takes a hit when I'm gaming on my main monitor and have a video playing on my second, so I guess that's slightly more intensive than 1080? Anyways, 1080p gaming, not upgrading res anytime soon.

Current Specs:

i5 2500k @ 3.3GHz

8GB Corsair Vengeance 1333MHz

EVGA GTX 560 Ti 1GB

Corsair TX850 V2

280x is the go to card for 1080p gaming, 7970 if you can pick one up for cheap seeing as they are the same thing

290 is pretty much overkill for 1080p, but really, since when is overkill a bad thing ;)

290 still seems appealing as I'll have enough power for anything that comes out in the next few years. Any idea if my power supply would be good enough for that with my setup though?
