Laptops for Uni

So i'm off to Uni in September to study computer forensics and while there are no requirements on the spec of the laptop i should be using I'm looking top end. Windows is pretty much a necessity as I'm not a fan of the Mac OS, Macbooks are still nice just not my cup of tea. Price isn't really an issue however cant be going too stupid as I'm gonna have to live while at Uni as well so like nothing over £2000 very max.

I've been looking strongly at the Surface Book (which is strong favourite) but just wanted some second opinions and where best to look. I had considered the Spectre and XPS lines as well but not really looked into them massively.

This will also be purely for productivity and work only and not need to be used for gaming purposes.

I love my Lenovo Ideapad 700. Real quad core, portable, decent battery, relatively light, comes with NVME and room for a 2.5" drive, nice IPS 1080p screen, 950m aint a great gaming card so it's not like you're paying a lot for a gaming machine, cause it aint meant for that (that being said, i do play warframe on it if i'm traveling). keyboard/trackpad are good, get a full numpad... can't say enough good things

Or should i invest in upgrading my current PC as the specs arent great and use a cheaper laptop ? EDIT: ill post specs in a min EDIT 2: Specs are in bio
