Hey everyone,

I just moved to Spain where I will work from home. I've been using an alienware laptop for the past 6 years, so I thought it was time for an upgrade.

I would like to make a gaming/working office. I have around a 5000€ to buy everything: pc, displays, tv, desk, ect...

I would like your advice/opinion on the components I selected. I plan on buying everything next week.

Prices are really different here from the US, 5-20% more expansive depending on the component. I will buy everything from amazon.es for convenience.

Here is the list of items I need/want :

  PC     Other
CPU ryzen 1700 320   Display 1 BenQ PD2700Q 380
MOBO Aus Prime X370 - PRO 170   Display 2 BenQ PD2700Q 380
RAM Gskill trident Z 32GB 3000Mhz 300   desk prekit 200
Storage SSD Samsung 960 EVO NVMe M.2 500GB 250   powerline ehernet TP-Link AV500 55
Storage HDD Seagate BarraCuda 2TB 70   switch TP-Link TL-SG105 20
Case Nox NXHUMMERMCB 50   TV LG C6 1900
PSU Corsair CS Series Modular CS850M 120   fans cheapest 15
Cooler Noctua NH-D15 SE-AM4 90
GPU RX VEGA / 1080ti 800

tot pc 2170     tot other 2950

      tot all 5120

Although I play a lot of games, I don't play competitive online. I plan on playing pc/console on the TV only. So I want a build that can get 4k 40-60FPS at high-ultra settings in games similar to witcher or tomb raider.

In terms of work I will do a lot of coding, physics simulations, electronic design and for hobby I plan on making games so 3d modelling, Unity/UE, adobe suite, ect... I also plan on watching a lot of movies/series/anime

Should I get a better mobo (taichi is at 250€ & C6H is at 290€) or is this one good enough for at least CPU 3.85GHz OC and 2933MHz OC RAM 24/7? I never tried OC before but I watched a few tutorials.

I wasn't able to find the ram support (QVL) for this Asus board. Is the Ram I selected compatible? or should I get the Corsair Vengeance LPX (same price)? what's the difference between C14/C15/C16? Is 3200Mhz ram worth 40€ compared to 3000Mhz ram?

I chose the Noctua cooler because my room temperature can rise up to 35º (sometimes higher) during summer. and I prefer an air cooler over an AIO.

I am already slightly over budget (5000€) So I'd appreciate if you can point me to better components for similar price or similar performance for lower price (Keep in mind prices here are very different from the US).

If you believe that the components are a good match I will buy everything by the end of next week (currently waiting for the money to arrive).

Thank you for taking the time to read through this post!

Since you have a €5,000 budget I thought why not go all out? Here's a build that will never let you down: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/FGvLRG . You could take the second 1080Ti out of the build to save a good chunk of money. This build will get you 2160p60 easily on ultra settings.

Clearly not reading that OP includes a TV and desk. Also, why even bother with a 1800X and GPU with blower cooler.

Edit: Also, there's pcpartpicker for Spanish market as well. Dont use German prices.

YourPC and monitors add up to about 2800 euros, so I set that as budget

X370 and B350's most noticable difference is SLI support, but SLI is not a good way to spend money anyway.

An expensive mobo might give better overclock, but I dont think it's worth that much more.

4TB hard drive because I found this cheap for its capacity and useful for a work machine.

Give the stock cooler a shot first. Replace if it doesnt keep the thermals well. Dont want to spend unnecessary money.

3000MHz RAM is good enough since 3200MHz ones are much more expensive for little extra speed. CL refers to timing, lower is better, but not as important as frequency and you can lower timing in the BIOS anyway.
