He's not going to fly stuff from BC to LA. That will be driven, MUCH cheaper than flying. Also, look up a plane ticket from BC to LA and from BC to London and come back and rethink your statement that is is equally as expensive to ship stuff from BC to LA than from BC to London.

I think the difference here is that people would more likely live and to travel to LA rather than London.  There's Disney Land, Universal Studios, etc.

I didn't think about driving and my point although not very well made was more thinking about the percentage cost of the overall event but even then I know little to nothing about running events and flights to London are bloody expensive from BC as I guess it's not a popular route.

Wut? Vancouver is not the boonies. If he were doing it in like the Kootenays or like somewhere in Norther Manatoba I would classify it as the boonies.

Sorry, is Vancouver somehow hard to fly to?

I actually disagree as London has more than twice the population and most of the UK is under 3 hours travel from London.

Still. the point is that you would be going to "Vancouver" if you were going to LTX. Langley is a 45 minute drive meaning that you would be able to catch public transit or a cab to get there from the airport quite easily.

must be a shitty job at mcdonalds

In Australia it's easy enough to make $500 a week as a minor at McDonalds (more if an adult) A flight to Vancouver can be had for around $1000 on sale. Considering there's likely a full year until the next one, it wouldn't be difficult saving if he still lived with parents and worked at McDonalds

As much as I wish they did it here (Would be convenient for me, the convention centre in darling harbour would be cool), dont think it would be practical for them.
