So recently I came into a little bit of extra cash through a performance bonus via work and I figured now seems as good a time as any to get a new PC priced out and built. I am particularly fond of the:

NZXT 340S Elite - White

Phanteks Eclipse P400 White Tempered Glass/Steel

for cases, so ideally these or something priced similarly along with the same design concept. I don't currently have a "theme" in mind, but I can always tweak and adjust accordingly. I won't be including sleeved cables, lighting, fans and such into the core cost of the build.

1. Budget & Location

Budget would be approximately $1600 USD with room to jump up to $1850 if we could fit a 1080Ti into the cost of the build at the increased amount.

2. Aim

Primarily the build will be used for gaming, this ranges from MMO gaming such as FFXIV:Arr / ESO, Moba's, General steam gaming, Mostly AAA titles

3. Monitors

Currently I will be running 1 Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU

4. Peripherals

Windows 10 For OS, currently I have Mouse/Keyboard/Headset/Mic/Speakers. I am good to go on all the peripherals that I need at this time.

5. Why are you upgrading?

Truthfully I am just looking to put a new build together that will give me a solid couple of years of good gaming.

Avoid MSI boards on Ryzen, nothing but trouble. And the Nex unit is a bad value, 550W G2 is cheaper and much better in terms of voltage regulation. Apart from that, pretty good.

idk

Some people have been having issues with POST and the UEFI has some serious flaws.

I had those too, but was able to resolve that fairly quickly. Too bad there aren't many "white themed" motherboards on the market right :/

I do indeed like white! Haven't decided if I want to go full whiteout or go with rgb lighting, but I'll adjust here and there as needed to accommodate that, thanks for the build idea!

Thanks for the build idea, mate!

Is there anything I need to take into consideration regarding the amd vs Intel options.  Also I may be able to repurpose my 850 evo 250gb ssd from my current rig, with that in mind would there be any adjustments you would recommend on parts? Or if I did proceed on the 1850 budget (as i didnt anticipate seeing the 1080ti under 1800, let alone a only 70 more than my original budget) would you recommend any adjustments

AMD's 1600 and 1700 will perform better for streaming/editing/rendering, intel's i7 performs better for gaming. you can remove the ssd from our partslists and save the money for a rainy day or spend it somewhere else.
