NVMe Raid 0 in external Case

Hi there,

 

I work as a DIT on Cinema Movies and Commercials and want to setup a new Offload Raid for Camera Magazines.

The purpose is speed and the question is, because I am a Mac user, if I could use a Sonnet Echo Express III Thunderbolt 3 PCI Extension Box with 3 NVMe SSDs like Samsung EVO Pro 960. I would use it in a software raid 0 for the offloads an rendering from this drive. Does anyone have already tested sth like this or similar expieriennce with that?

You could do this yes, you'll need a PCIe M.2 host card if you want to use Samsung 960's or you could use Intel 750 AIB cards.
