So I am getting a gift of $200 but in items. I get to pick but I have no idea since I buy most stuff I need and want.

 

So what's some cool tech related stuff that's $200 max.

It really depends on who your getting the stuff for.

There are thousands of options, so you have to consider your target audience, what their values are, and what they already have.

Raspberry pi emulator box could be a fun project. I'm planning one myself.
