Hey guys,

I was thinking about going for a new graphics card, and I was thinking GTX 780 Ti. Problem is that I only have a 650W PSU (Cooler Master GX 650). I currently use a GTX 550 Ti for graphics, and man.. I wanna play dem games

4x OCZ Vector

2x Seagate Barracuda

i7 3930K

Asus Rampage 4 Extreme

I will eventually go buy the Corsair AX 1200i power supply, but can I buy the 780 Ti some months in advance? Or do I need more than 650W for this? Thanks!  :)

This PSU is great in my opinion. Yeah it's kinda loud, but I also have an H100i with pretty noisy pump. Replaced all the Corsair fans with SilverStone tho, much more quiet. Also I don't have a case, so it's kinda loud anyway  ^_^ I built mytself a test bench sort of thing because I spent all the case money on CPU  I will make a build log for you when I have the time.

@ Those of you wondering how the PSU is: Yeah it's great if you don't need more than 650W. I've had no problems with it whatsoever. But read the reviews rather than listen to me  ;)

But you guys would say that I don't need more power, and that the 650W will be enough? Barely?  :P Could it cause hardware failure if the PSU can't deliver?

650W is more than enough, you would only need to worry if you had 2 780TI's, then you would have to upgrade to 750W or more.

As it is now pretty much all single GPU systems are fine with a good 500W power supply.

And no, if you decided to overclock the CPU to ...10GHz under liquid magic and it drew too much power it wouldn't damage the power supply, it would simply shut down.
