So just updated my amd graphics drivers to 17.7.2 and for some reason it completely screwed up the resolution on my Monitor and everything looked like it was out of frame like i tired using a different resolution to what my monitor actually is. I checked in my display options and nothing had changed so i went into device manager to roll back my drivers and now everything looks fine, however now i can't open my radeon settings at all as it pops up with box saying "Radeon settings are currently not available, please retry once connecting to AMD graphics"

first use the DDU tool to completely uninstall the drivers

then download an older driver and everythink will be ok .

  • 2 weeks later...

Having the same issue once I finished the new driver install (17.7.2) my screen then was way to big for my monitor. I tried to fix the issue as I have in the pass with gpu scaling but it didn't work this time. How do I reinstall 17.7.1 already tried the rollback but for some reason it completely uninstalled the driver and I had to reinstall 17.7.2. Can I just reinstall the driver (17.7.1) from the AMD website?

hey dude so what i did was downloaded a program called display driver uninstaller and wiped my AMD drivers like that, you can download the previous driver from AMD's website if you search for it and download it onto a USB tick which will make the process of reinstalling alot easier :)

I had to roll back my driver, because my FPS in some games just completely tanked (like Dead Island, which I've recently been playing again).  I went from a completely smooth experience, to horrible micro-stuttering/jerky movement.  Joke's on me for finally upgrading to a buggy driver, I guess.

yeah to be honest it's the first problem i've had with an AMD driver and i've had my R9 fury for about 10 months now, i heard that amd had put out some buggy drivers before. To be honest i'm surprised this hasn't been reported yet by someone. Doesn't even seem that AMD have acknowledged it on their drivers page either

Eh, they both put out buggy drivers from time to time.  I've actually been running one of the 16.x drivers, but I finally accepted the update prompt to get this one when it came up.  Like I said, jokes on me.

I'm having major issues with this driver and game-breaking stutter and framerate problems in Rocket League.  First driver in a looooong time to give me any problems from AMD.
