Do i understand RAM?

Go to solution Solved by Vindola,

Imagine you have a bunch of books in your home library, sitting on the shelves. You want to study one of these books, so you take that book, place it on a desk, and start studying.

The books are the data in your PC.

The shelves of your home library are the Hard Drive, where the data is stored.

The book you took out from the shelves is the data you want to handle at this moment.

And the desk is your RAM, the place where you can handle this data.

Hi guys!

So i'm just wondering about something, do i understand RAM (Random Acces Memory)

I don't know much about it but what i understand is that the CPU can put temporary files on the RAM memory. Am i right? if not please explain how it works i'm really interested! :)

Thanks!
