PC isn't starting

I replaced the ram in my PC and now it starts then stops then starts... what am I doing wrong?

 

my specs are i7 6700k

gtx 1060

Vengeance ddr4 ram 2 x 8 sticks (the ones I used)

windows 10

b150m MOBO

I have a 650watt. Idk what it's called but the bottom of the ram where the golds parts are. It won't go into the slot cause there isn't enough room. I am also having trouble fitting my old ram? I must be placing it incorrectly but idk how

Make sure the computer is turned off and unplugged.  Better safe than sorry.  Give it a minute or two so that everything inside the case can fully discharge.  Once that is done, completely remove the ram from the mobo.  Look closely at the slots where the ram fits into the mobo and you will see there is a small tack thing inside the slot.  This goes together with the slot in the ram stick so that you can't insert the stick back-asswards.  Make sure the catch at the end of the ram slot is in the open position, then insert the ram into the slot.  Usually insert one end in first then the other.  Make sure the ram is seated fully into the slot.  When it does seat fully, the catch at the end of the slot will fasten down the ram stick so that it does not move.  As for inserting the ram, this should do it without any problems.

It basically refers to resetting the bios settings. CMOS is the semiconductor tech used in the ram that basically stores the bios settings you set. Resetting it would then reset your bios, essentially.

 

Shut down your pc and turn the psu off. After this I usually like to hold the power button on the pc for a few seconds to drain the caps in the psu. Find the little silver battery on your motherboard and take the battery out for a minute or two before putting it back in.

are you putting the ram sticks the right way when trying to install them

Yes I am. I used the wrong type of memory when I tried to install the new one. When I tried to install the old one it failed to start. The ram won't click into place. Did I brake the MOBO?
