For a first time builder I am pretty proud of what I've put together here.

Specs:

CPU- Ryzen 5 1600 @ 3.7GHz

RAM- Corsair Vengeance LPX 2 x 8GB @ 2933

Video Card- Gigabyte RX 560 2GB

Mobo- Asus Prime B350 Plus

PSU- Corsair CX550M

Case- Phanteks p400 tempered glass

Drives- 500GB Sandisk Ultra 2, & some old 2TB WD enterprise HDD

My main purpose for this build is to play the latest AAA games at 1080p, 60fps. I'll be upgrading the GPU to either a GTX 1070 or RX Vega if that turns out to be any good. The 560 works for now, although thinking back on it i should have gotten a 1050ti instead, and it isn't overpriced from crypto-currency mining. So, how did i do?

(I've also got those RGB LED strips running all around for that extra bling)

Yep, I would've picked the GTX 1050Ti instead too. But other than that, it's a good rig, no complaints.

should have spend less on your looks and gotten a cheaper case, better PSU and a 1050TI. id say a 6/10

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

PSU is more than perfectly fine and in terms of looks vs performance in this scenario, looks>performance as he's going to upgrade soon anyway so may as well save a couple of bucks by not buying two cases :P

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

preformance always goes above looks for me, no point in haveing a good looking PC that preforms like a potato. the PSU is fine, but i would have gone with something better. even if he will upgrade soon id rather have seen a better PSU and a 1050TI then a pretty case and RGB

"nothern bee!" says otherwise :P

Anyway, the PSU is fine, its performance is actually quite good while being made from pwetty good components, frankly you're contradicting yourself (again) as from a price to PSU (while not performing like trash or is made from trash) perspective, its probably one of the highest in that department...

Thing is, the difference between a 1050ti and RX460 isn't that large plus in this case, a nicer case is fine as in the end, he's probably saving money which again from a price... ;)

the diffrence between the 460 and the 1050TI is bellow playable to playable m80. As for Northern Bee the money spend on looks is quite small, cutting the looks part wouldent get me any more preformance, therefor i find it fine. the total spent on looks is about the cost of a RAM stick lol. its just the coolant seeing as i needed to change case so thats a necesairy expense and the extra i paid for the blocks being plexi is only going to be around $40 total. :P
