I figured I'd just drop a quick note since many people mention the chance of high-end monitors with IPS panels having backlight bleed, inconsistent color, etc.  Bought my PG279Q at a local shop that price-matched Amazon (so I could replace it easily and quickly if there was an issue), connected it to the system...and no issues.  The display is flawless and glorious in terms of quality.

 

However, you will want to calibrate it.  Also turn down the default brightness because otherwise it's like staring at the sun.
