I want to upgrade an older desktop I have. I want to put in a Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q9400. Which i know will fit in my motherboard. But i also want to install a MSI ATI Radeon HD6450 1 GB DDR3 VGA/DVI/HDMI Low Profile PCI-Express Video Card R6450-MD1GD3/LP. I just don't know if they are compatible with each other.

It should work just fine as long as you have room in the case and the PSU can handle it which it should be able to.

i5 6600k @ 4.4ghz on Hyper 212 Evo

Powercolor RX 480 8Gb Red Devil @1330Mhz

Bottom line:  Don't be a spaz or an 800lb gorilla when installing your expensive CPU, and you won't have any problems. --Phate.exe
