Help with Litcoin mining?

Ok well I've looked into Bitcoins and stuff but i'm not sure where to start.

I've seen a few threads talk about litcoins but what's the difference and could someone tell me how to get started?

I'd be willing to say Bitcoins are the ones that are worthless, at least to anyone with consumer grade hardware that got into mining late. Now we have crazy rigs with crazy price tags with harder algorithms that it makes no financial sense to bother mining Bitcoin anymore if you can't get access to "free" electricity. Lite Coin might not be worth as much, but I have the feeling Bitcoin will collapse after becoming too unstable. It's already unstable as all hell with its fluctuating value.

Bitcoins now require absurd hardware that it's not worth it for people this late in the game while Litecoin is steadily climbing up and can be mined on current hardware..which is why I find Bitcoins to be the worthless ones to most people now vs Litecoin.

Not to hijack a thread, but is mining Litecoin with Nvidia as useless as it is with Bitcoin? Still a AMD only deal?

Pretty much yes. Although right now with the high price and ease of mining, Nvidia cards while not as efficient are still more than capable of making a profit.
