My First Build

Hi guys, I'm new to the community. 

I'll begin with saying that no, I've never built a PC from the ground up before, but it's always been something I've wanted to do. I have disassembled and reassembled multiple laptops, consoles, and phones though.

I've wanted to build for a while but I've never had either the resources, reason, or time to do so. Now that I have a reason for one I think It's about time. 

I know I want to build something that can rely on for a while. The general idea of what I want is something that can support work first and then gaming closely after. 

I work with autoCAD and Revit every day, either for work or for a hobby I'll use both. If you are unfamiliar AutoCAD it allows you to work in either a 2D or 3D space to design all sorts of content. 

I mainly use CAD in 2D. Revit on the other hand is based mostly in 3D and generally used for architecture (hopefully the future of my career.) I would use it to render for example, a house in 3D. 

Effectively designing a floor plan and then rendering it into 3D. 

On the flip side I would like to game in my spare time too. Now I've never been an elitist that has to run everything at MAX to enjoy it. (I do have a few friends that refuse to play games because of one setting being slightly off.)

I'm not necessarily a "look at this cool rig I built" kind of guy, so a closed case is fine with me (Not specifying I HAVE to have one, but I don't mind either way.)

I would like to stay near USD$1000 for this build and I'm starting from nothing really. My friends keep recommending different new "updated" builds, but I think what they send my way suits their needs instead of mine.
