Hello,
So i'm planning to sell my 1070 which i will have profit about 100$
I was thinking getting 1080 or just wait for the next generation cards.
right now i have 1050 ti lying around.
I know the performance upgrade won't be so far from 1070-1080 so I'm considering to wait for the next gen card.
when will the new cards be out? and will it be worth the wait?
Thanks!

Well with nvidia typically the rule of thumb is up one generation, down one tier is within ~10% performance, so 680/770/960/1050 etc. and with the 970 and 1070 iirc they both matched the previous Ti (780 Ti and 980 Ti respectively), so you can judge if it's worth it by that.  How long will it be?  Well I don't recall seeing even a leak about volta yet so probably quite a while, especially for the Ti.

Given that Vega is only a bit faster than the 1080 from what we've seen and I guess it isn't any cheaper, it's probably a bit more expensive, I'd guess Nvidia will keep milking Pascale until Q1 2018. Just a guess though, my crystal ball's in the shop for repairs.

That's true for now but the thing is Vega at the moment is basically a beta compared to what it should be.  They still have a fair bit of firmware/driver work to do and there's no telling what that could do for the performance, and maybe even TDP.  That said, it's not going to change the price, so there's that.
